These are the main signs for Under 12 who are being subjected to bullying at school:
Your child may use every excuse under the sun to try to hide that she is being bullied. Look out for any of the following:
not wanting to go to school
feeling ill in the mornings
beginning to do less well in their school work
becoming withdrawn, starting to stammer, lacking confidence
becoming distressed and anxious, stopping eating
having trouble getting to sleep at night
crying themselves to sleep, having nightmares
possessions go missing
asking for money or starting to steal (to pay the bully)
'loses' their pocket money
refusing to talk about what's wrong
having unexplained bruises, cuts, scratches
beginning to bully other children, siblings
becoming aggressive and unreasonable
personality changes, not being themselves
giving improbable excuses for any of the above
